Good News / BCCI approves 10 teams for 2022 IPL, Rajiv Shukla appointed new vice-president

The annual meeting of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has approved the participation of 10 teams in the Indian Premier League.
However, it will be implemented in 2022 instead of next season 2021. The issue of inclusion of IPL franchise was the most important issue in the meeting held in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The BCCI's 89th AGM was held at the Taj Hotel in Ahmedabad, where a number of agendas were discussed.

The IPL has created a 10-team tournament involving two new teams. The 10-team IPL will feature 94 matches. Which will take about two and a half months. The AGM has endorsed the inclusion of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles game.

Following some clarification from the International Olympic Committee, the BCCI will support the International Cricket Council's exercise to include cricket in the 2028 Olympics.

Rajiv Shukla has also been selected as the new vice-president of the BCCI. Who have been chosen unanimously. Shukla, a former Rajya Sabha MP, was earlier the vice-president when N Srinivasa was the chairman and also the chairman of the governing council of the Indian Premier League.
