Devothani Ekadashi is called Ekadashi of Kartik, Shukla Paksha. Tulsi Vivah and Devuthani Ekadashi is on Wednesday i.e. 25 November 2020. It is believed that on the Ekadashi of Kartik month Shukla Paksha awakens from sleep of Shrihari Chaturmas. For this reason, this Ekadashi is also called Devouthani Ekadashi. From this day onwards, auspicious works like marriage, mundan etc. begin in Hinduism. On this day, Shaligram was married to Goddess Tulsi in the form of Lord Vishnu and there is a tradition of marrying him on this day. It is said that whoever performs the ritual of Tulsi marriage gets virtue equal to Kanyadaan.
According to a legend, once mother Tulsi was angry and cursed Lord Vishnu that you should become a black stone. Due to this curse, God incarnated as Shaligram stone. He then married Tulsi ji. It is believed that Lord Vishnu is the Shaligram and Tulsi ji is considered to be the form of Goddess Lakshmi. Here we are telling you the time of both Ekadashi and Dwadashi dates.

Ekadashi Vrat and Puja Vidhi- On
the day of Ekadashi fast, get up early in the morning and take bath etc. and take a vow. Then worship Lord Vishnu. Then light a lamp of ghee and burn incense. After that, apply fruits, flowers and bhog to them. Please offer Tulsi to Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi. In the evening worship Lord Vishnu and recite Vishnushastranam. On Ekadashi, the fast should be eaten only as sattvic food. Food should not be consumed on this day. Do not consume rice on Ekadashi.
