You may have seen scenes of a building collapsing but have you ever seen a building being moved from one place to another? Chinese engineers have done this miracle. The 7600 tonne school building, built in 1935 in Shanghai, China, has been relocated from its original location. The building was raised with the help of a jack and shifted using robotic techniques.
According to the information received, work on a new project has been started near this old building. Also, they have decided to move the old building as there is not enough space for the project. Engineers had the option to demolish this old building but they decided to move this 5 storey old building from one place to another.
According to local media reports, the 5-storey building was erected by a team of engineers using a technique and carried by 198 robotic legs 62 meters away from the original site. This work took 18 days. It has now been decided to preserve this old historic building.
There are many techniques to move any building from one place to another. It has long been used in China. But, this is the first time Chinese engineers have moved the building using robotics legs. It is learned that this is the first time that Chinese engineers have shifted a building in this way.
