Know All About Congress Leader Ahmed Patel

Ahmedabad:
Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel passed away early Wednesday morning. This information was given by Faisal Patel, son of 71-year-old Ahmed Patel. Ahmed Patel's political career spanned from Indira Gandhi to the era of Rahul Gandhi-Priyanka Gandhi. During this time the line often became stronger and sometimes even weaker. However, amidst changing circumstances, Ahmed Patel never left the Gandhi family.

Ahmed Patel was born on 21 August 1949 in Piraman village of Ankleshwar taluka in Bharuch district of Gujarat and was considered a promising political leader. Ahmed Patel has been a three-time Lok Sabha and four-time Rajya Sabha MP. He contested the first election from Bharuch Lok Sabha seat in 1977. Ahmed Patel won the election by 62879 votes.

Ahmed Patel became an MP at the age of 26. He won the elections in 1977 and became the youngest MP. He was only 26 at the time. After this election, his winning streak continued. In 1980, Ahmed Patel won the election with 82,844 votes. In 1984, Ahmed Patel won by 12,369 votes. In 1980 and 1984, Chandubhai Deshmukh of the Janata Party was second.

How reliable is Rajiv-Sonia?
Ahmed Patel took charge of an important position in the Congress. He has also been Sonia Gandhi's political advisor since 2001. Ahmed Patel, who started his political career as the President of the Congress Taluka Panchayat, became the President of the Gujarat Congress in January 1986. Patel was also the President of the Youth Congress Committee from 1977 to 1982. From September 1983 to December 1984, Ahmed Patel was also the Joint Secretary of the All India Congress Committee. Ahmed Patel also served as Parliamentary Secretary to the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi from January to September 1985.

Father was also in Congress
Born to Mohammad Ishaqji Patel and Hawaben Mohammad Bhai, Ahmed Patel's father was in the Congress. It is believed that his father's CD brought Ahmed to the heights of politics very quickly. The extent to which his father's experiences and teachings changed his life can be seen in Ahmed Patel's political stature. Ahmed Patel married Memuna Ahmed in 1976. The Patel family stayed away from politics. Ahmed Patel has two children. A son and a daughter… but both are currently away from the world of politics.

Ahmed Patel knew the vein of the organization
Ahmed Patel entered the Congress organization in depth. After the sudden return of the Congress in 1980, Indira Gandhi wanted Patel to be included in the cabinet, but Ahmed Patel expressed his love for the organization. The same picture was seen in the time of Rajiv Gandhi. Ahmed Patel was again offered the post of minister after the 1984 elections, but this time too he chose the organization.
