IPL: DC, RCB, KKR and SRH, who has a better chance of reaching the playoffs? Understand in 8 points

The playoffs in the Indian Premier League in the UAE are now just two matches away.
Yet the competition is still on to reach the remaining three places in the playoffs. Although two of the six teams have been knocked out of the tournament after two matches played in Super Sunday, four teams (RCB, DC, KKR and SRH) are still on the field to reach the playoffs.

Currently, last year's winners in IPL 2020, Mumbai Indians are at the top of the points table with 18 points and have reached the playoffs. However, the winning team from Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will come second. The result will be known tonight.

But there will be a real battle for the third and fourth ranks. TOI's Shankar Radhurman explains in 8 points all the possibilities that can happen after today's DC vs RCB match, which is as follows ...

  1. Mumbai Indians will be in the top-4 with 18 points. Because no other team is likely to have so many points. Besides, Mumbai still has one match left.
  2. In the match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the winning team will be second with 16 points.
  3. The Kolkata Knight Riders will tie for 14 points for third place.
  4. If Sunrisers Mumbai win the match against Hyderabad on Tuesday, Kolkata will tie the losing team in the DCvRCB match.
  5. If Hyderabad wins on Tuesday, the losing team of Kolkata, Hyderabad and DCvRCB will tie for third place with 14-14-14 points. In such a case the net runrate will be the main one here.
  6. If it comes to net run rate, Hyderabad will come third. Because its net run rate is better than Delhi, Bangalore and Kolkata.
  7. To survive in the tournament, Kolkata will have to hope that today's DCvRCB match will be one-sided and the winning team will win by a large margin so that the net run rate of the losing team will be worse than Kolkata.
  8. Rajasthan will be eighth in the points table, Chennai seventh and Punjab sixth.

The IPL 2020 season has been very exciting. The lowest ranked team in the points table is also with 12 points. With only two matches left in the tournament, the three playoff teams have yet to be decided. Punjab and Rajasthan were knocked out of the tournament after Sunday's match. Not long ago, DC and RCB seemed to reach the top-4. Now this is not clear. Either team can be eliminated from the tournament.
