Farooq Abdullah said, we are enemies of BJP, not of country

SRINAGAR:
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and People Elyans For former president declaration Farooq Abdullah lashed out at the BJP once again. Farooq Abdullah said during a conference on Monday, we are enemies of BJP, not of the country.

They want to separate Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Christian from each other. We believe in Mahatma Gandhi's India, where all are equal. He said that we are not a gang but a coalition of parties. People who call us gangs are the biggest dacoits, so they see everyone as a gang.

We will contest the elections together, but we cannot get an election symbol, so we will contest with the joint candidates on their respective symbols. Farooq Abdullah said that we will contest as partners with each other. But, not all the parties of the alliance can get an election symbol, so all the parties will contest the elections on their own trail and field a common candidate.

The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has announced the Panchayat and Municipal by-elections with the District Development Council elections in the state last week. These elections will be held in eight phases in the state. Meanwhile, the Civil Secretariat, the main office of the state administration of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, started functioning from Jammu on Monday.

Significantly, seven mainstream parties of Jammu and Kashmir had announced on Saturday that they would jointly contest the District Development Council (DDC) elections in the union territory. These seven parties, including the National Conference and PDP, are part of the Guptak Manifesto Alliance (PAGD) formed to restore the special status of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir state.

According to a notification issued by the Election Commission of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, elections will be held in eight phases from December 1 to December 24 for various posts of DDC and Sarpanch and Panch.
