Clashes between thousands of fans and police arrived to bid farewell to footballer Maradona


Thousands of fans clashed with police on Thursday to bid farewell to Diego Maradona, one of Argentina's greatest football stars, at the presidential mansion. 
Fans threw bottles at police and smashed barricades near Casa Rosada, the main area of ​​Buenos Aires.

After family members and close friends paid their last respects to Maradona's mortal remains, the general public was allowed to pay their last respects at 6.15am local time.

Maradona's body was placed in the main lobby of the presidential office and was covered with the flag of Argentina and the number 10 jersey of the national team. Fans also threw jerseys of various football teams during their final darshan.


Maradona died of a heart attack at his home outside Buenos Aires on Wednesday. Where they were coming out of an operation that took place in November.
