Suicide attack in Kabul kills 10, including school children, injures 20

New Delhi: At
least 10 people, including school children, were killed in a suicide attack in the Afghan capital Kabul on Saturday. While 20 others were injured. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a Shiite-majority education center in western Kabul, the interior ministry said. The attacker was trying to enter the education center when he was stopped by security guards, Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arian said. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Taliban
has denied responsibility , but has denied any involvement in the bombing. It is noteworthy that an organization affiliated with the Islamic State claimed responsibility for a similar attack on the education center in August 2018. In which 34 students were killed. So the US signed a peace deal with the Taliban in February. This has paved the way for the return of American forces from the country.

Negotiations for peace in Qatar
US officials said the agreement would focus on strengthening security in the fight against Islamic State. Islamic State is a staunch rival of the Taliban. Violence has escalated between the Taliban and Afghan forces in the country. So representatives of the Taliban and the government are negotiating for peace in Doha, the capital of Qatar, to end the decades-long war in Afghanistan.

A previous
roadside bomb blast in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday killed at least nine people. The bomber struck shortly after noon in a minivan. In which the common people sat. Ahmed Khan Sirte, a police spokesman in Ghazni province, said two policemen were also killed in the second roadside blast.

A police car was involved in
the blast. Who was earlier going to the site of the blast to help the victims. Several others were injured in the blasts and an investigation into the attacks is ongoing, Sirat said. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. A local police spokesman claimed that the bombs were planted by the Taliban.
