Jammu and Kashmir: Three leaders left Mehbooba Mufti's party

Srinagar: A ruckus
has started over the recent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti's statement about the tricolor. Angered by Mufti's statement, three leaders of his own party have left.

Resenting Mehbooba's statement, three leaders have resigned from the party's primary membership. These three leaders say that Mehbooba's statement has hurt their feelings of patriotism.

Actually, Mehbooba Mufti gave a statement after which there has been a ruckus in Jammu and Kashmir. He had said that she would not lift the flag until she got the flag of Jammu and Kashmir. Mehbooba Mufti had said that I will not raise any flag other than Jammu and Kashmir. Whenever this flag of ours comes back, we will also lift that (tricolor) flag.

Meanwhile, in Srinagar, Bharatiya Janata Party workers demonstrated in Srinagar against Mehbooba Mufti in Srinagar. BJP workers from Kupwara reached Srinagar's famous Lal Chowk and tried to hoist the tricolor.

BJP workers from Kupwara arrived at Lal Chowk's clock tower, though they were caught by the police. Four BJP workers were detained. Earlier on Sunday, ABVP activists shouted slogans outside the PDP's office in Jammu. The tricolor was hoisted outside the PDP office, shouting slogans.

BJP workers hoisted the tricolor on PDP's Jammu office on Monday. Hundreds of BJP workers gathered here carrying the tricolor and were opposing the statement of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister PDP Mehbooba Mufti.
