IPL2020: Delhi Capitals Beat Rajasthan Royals By 13 Runs

After a brilliant half-century from Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Aiyar, the Delhi Capitals recorded a 13-run victory over Rajasthan Royals with the help of superb bowlers. In the 30th match of the 13th season of the IPL T20 cricket tournament, Delhi won the toss and elected to bat first, setting a target of 162 against Rajasthan. In reply, Rajasthan could only score 148 for eight in 20 overs. With this victory, the Delhi Capitals team has reached the top of the points table. Earlier, batting first, Delhi scored 161 for seven in 20 overs.

In the opening came Ben Stokes, Captain Smith flop

Chasing a target of 162, Rajasthan Royals fielded Ben Stokes in the opening over. The pair of Stokes and Jose Butler opened for the team. Stokes performed as expected and batted aggressively. Stokes hit 41 off 35 balls with the help of six fours. Butler, meanwhile, hit 22 off 9 balls with three fours and a six. However, Captain Steve Smith flops. He collected the pavilion with just one run.

Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa's superb batting

In the middle order, Sanju Samson and Robin Uthappa also batted brilliantly. However, they could not turn their good start into a big innings. Sanju Samson hit 25 off 18 balls with the help of two sixes while Robin Uthappa hit 32 off 27 balls in which he hit three fours and a six. However, his batting was not enough to give the team a victory. Enrich Norte was two wickets quick for Delhi. While Kagiso Rabada, Tushar Deshpande, Ravichandran Ashwin and Akshar Patel took one wicket each.

Delhi Capitals scored 161 runs

Earlier, with the help of half-centuries from opener Shikhar Dhawan and captain Shreyas Iyer, the Delhi Capitals set a target of 162 against Rajasthan Royals in a match being played in Dubai today. Delhi won the toss and elected to bat first in the 30th match of the 13th season of the IPL T20 cricket tournament. Delhi had a bad start but Dhawan and Iyer batted brilliantly. With the help of which Delhi Capitals scored 161 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Dhawan (57) and Captain Iyer (53) played brilliant innings.

Earth show just got out on the first ball

Delhi, who won the toss and elected to bat first, were hit on the first ball. Joffra Archer took the wicket on the first ball of the match by bowling Prithvi Shaw. Ajinkya Rahane was also out when the team scored 10 runs. Rahane contributed two runs. Rahane has not had a chance to play more matches this season. This was Rahane's second match of the current season. In both, Rahane has performed disappointingly.

Dhawan and Iyer batted hard

After Shaw and Rahane were out, Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer took over. Dhawan and Iyer shared an 85-run stand for the third wicket. In that too, Dhawan batted in a more aggressive manner. Dhawan played an instant innings of 57 off 33 balls. Which included six fours and two sixes. While Iyer scored 53 off 43 balls. In which he hit three fours and two sixes. With the help of the pair's batting, Delhi managed to score a big score.

Joffra Archer and Unadkat's outburst

Joffra Archer gave Rajasthan the lead on the first ball. He collected the pavilion by bowling the Earth show on the first ball of the match. The latter was quick for the other two wickets. He also dismissed Ajinkya Rahane and Marcus Stoinis. Archer took three wickets for 19 runs in four overs. While Saurashtra's star bowler Jaydev Unadkat was two wickets faster. Unadkat, however, remained a bit expensive. He gave up 32 runs in three overs.
