IPL 2020: Dinesh Karthik hands over KKR captaincy to Eoin Morgan

Veteran cricketer Dinesh Karthik has decided to relinquish the captaincy in the middle of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League.
He relinquished the captaincy on Friday and handed over the responsibility to World Cup-winning Ian Morgan of England. Meanwhile, former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir has tweeted, which hints at questioning team management.

The two-time champions Kolkata franchise have changed their captains in the middle of the 13th season of the IPL. Amid questions over the captaincy after the team's poor performance, Dinesh Karthik has handed over the captaincy to Ian Morgan, England's limited overs captain and a key member of KKR. Morgan will captain KKR for the first time.

Meanwhile, former KKR captain and former Team India opener Gautam Gambhir has tweeted. It takes years to build a legacy but it takes a minute to make it worse, he wrote.

Seriously raised questions on management?
Following Gambhir's tweet, people are thinking that he has questioned KKR's team management. The co-owner of the KKR team is Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan who was spotted at the stadium in the last few matches of KKR. As for Karthik, he has scored 108 runs in 7 matches so far this season. Which includes a half century. He has scored a total of 3762 runs in 189 matches in his IPL career with the help of 19 half centuries. Respecting

Karthik's decision,
team CEO Venki Mysore said, "We are lucky to have a leader like DK (Dinesh Karthik) who has always held our team together." It is very difficult for anyone to make such a decision. We ourselves are annoyed by this decision. But we respect their wishes.

Speaking of KKR's performance in the season, he has won 4 out of 7 matches and the team is currently fourth in the points table with 8 points. Today is his match against Mumbai Indians.
