Former CBI Director Ashwani Kumar commits suicide

 Former Nagaland Governor and former CBI Director Ashwani Kumar was found hanging in his bungalow in Shimla. According to the information received from the police, his body was found hanging in a residence in Brak Haast in Shimla. The former IPS officer took this dreadful step, upset with his illness.

Himachal Pradesh DGP Sanjay Kundu said that the case of Ashwini Kumar's suicide was being investigated. However, he has not blamed anyone in his suicide note. Earlier on Wednesday, after the information about Ashwini Kumar's death, a team of police arrived at his house for investigation.

The police team also found a suicide note on the spot. It was written in this note that I am going out of my life on my next journey. It is also written in the note that I am taking this step after getting fed up with my illness. In the suicide note, he has also expressed his desire to donate organs after death.

70-year-old Ashwini Kumar was found hanging on the noose in his house in Shimla. However, the police team is still trying to find out what is the main reason behind the suicide. Former Indian Police Service officer Ashwini Kumar was also the Governor of Manipur and Nagaland State.

Earlier, Ashwini was posted as Director General of Police from August 2006 to July 2008. Later he became the director of CBI and he held this post for more than 2 years. Ashwini Kumar, a resident of Sirmaur, Himachal, was a 1973 batch IPS officer.

He held the qualification iron in several positions including the Director of CBI, DGP of Himachal Pradesh. In May 2013, the then UPA Government made him the Governor of Nagaland first and then in July 2013 he also made him the Governor of Manipur.
