Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has written a letter to Chief Justice of India AS Bobde. He has demanded the Chief Justice to ensure the fairness of the judiciary in the state. Through his letter, the CM of Andhra Pradesh has made serious allegations against the Supreme Court judge Justice NV Ramana.
He has said that NV Ramana is influencing the High Court bench which also affects the roster of some judges. In his eight-page letter, CM Jaganmohan Reddy has alleged that Justice Ramna is close to TDP leader and former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The letter noted that Justice Ramana influenced the hearing of cases related to former CM Chandrababu.
Also, his daughters have also been involved in the purchase of land. He has told that in the investigation by the government, the names of many big people came out in the case of grabbing the land of farmers at a nominal price. Information about this was also sent to the central government. But former advocate general Dammalapathi Srinivas, close to Chandrababu Naidu, filed a petition in the High Court.
The letter to the Chief Justice was written on 6 October and Jaganmohan Reddy returned to meet PM Narendra Modi on the same day. According to information received from sources, the state CM Jaganmohan Reddy had a conversation with the PM about the development of the state and the fund under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act.
The letter was released to the media in Hyderabad on Saturday on behalf of Ajay Kallam, Jaganmohan's chief advisor. The letter also mentions those occasions when cases related to the Telugu Desam Party were handed over to some respected judges. Apart from this, it said that since the YSR Congress Party came to power in May 2019, orders have been ordered by Chandrababu Naidu's government for all kinds of deals made between June 2014 and May 2019.
Since then Justice NV Ramanna has been trying to influence the administration of justice in the state. Please tell that on 15 September, the High Court ordered that the FIRs filed by the ACB on the former Advocate General should not be reported in the media. This FIR was lodged against Srinivas for purchasing land in Amravati.
This is the first time in the country that a CM has complained against a judge to the Chief Justice, which talks about affecting the judicial system. Jagan has requested the Chief Justice of the country to uphold the neutrality of the judiciary in Andhra Pradesh.
