Set to ban Afghanistan is a country which is known for its conservatism. This is a country where women were subjected to domestic oppression under the guise of conservative and male dominance. Where women were not allowed to move out of the house. During the Taliban regime in Afghanistan, women were banned from their homes from 1996 to 2006.
However he was allowed to move out with a male member of the family. Education and sports were also far away from the reach of women, but now the women of this country are breathing freely in open fitness. The winds of change have started flowing. Girls have started coming and going to school without any restrictions, women are seen playing games like cricket openly.
Till a few years ago, doing so there was like a dream. In the last two general elections, many women have become representatives in Parliament. These days the first fitness center has opened in the country. This fitness center opened in Kandahar is for women only. Every day around 50 women come here to exercise.
Such a scene has not been seen before in conservative Afghanistan. Where women can come and exercise their right to keep themselves healthy. In this regard, many women visiting the fitness center spoke openly to the media about their experiences.
A woman named Fatima Hashmi said, there is no doubt that coming here is not without fear. Everyone knows that women are more afraid in such a condition. But from the other point of view, exercise is favorable and happy for our health. Therefore, we pay more attention to our purpose and ignore the fear.
Instructor Sana Jan said, for them, the gym is a means of financial independence and security. He said, I am very happy working here. Apart from other women, I can also help myself. Earning here is a big financial help for my family. Maryam Durrani, founder of Mallika Suraiya Gym, said that the women's response was positive while the men had little doubt.
In this way, it is a big thing to open a women's fitness center in countries like Afghanistan. Now women are getting equal rights as men in this country, which is presenting the example of women empowerment.
