The husband of a couple living in Jharkhand drove a 1300 km scooter so that the pregnant wife could take the exam. The couple, Dasharath and Soni Manzi, live in Jharkhand. They started traveling on August 28 and reached Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh on August 30. Meanwhile the husband drove a 1300 km scooter and sat behind a 7 month pregnant wife.
"My wife is pregnant and we left the house with a raincoat," Dasharath said. He said that he did not study much but wanted his wife to study and become a teacher. The wife is studying in the second year and she had to take an exam so that she would not spoil this year. Currently the train is not running and the taxi fare was found to be between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 which was not affordable. So we decided to go on a scooter from Jharkhand to Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh.
"I have been getting a lot of calls since morning," Dasharath said. The Madhya Pradesh government has spoken of helping me to return to Jharkhand. Dasharath who is 37 years old and works in a catering company. His monthly income is only Rs 9,000 but his intentions are strong. So he drove a 1300 km scooter so that his wife could take the exam. Meanwhile, their petrol cost is around Rs 2,000. He spent the night in a garden near the Expressway during the trip.
During this journey he encountered bad and waterlogged roads, rain. With no money for travel, he decided to mortgage his jewelry. The couple has been given a relief of Rs 5,000 by the district administrators.
