Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh ended the fast

New Delhi:
Deputy Speaker of Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh has ended his one day fast today. The Deputy Speaker Harivansh was mistreated by opposition party MPs when he passed the Agriculture Bill last Sunday, against which he sadly went on a day-long fast.

Harivansh wrote a letter to the Vice President and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha Venkaiah Naidu regarding the whole matter. He said in the letter that whatever happened in the Rajya Sabha on 20 September, I am in suicidal, self-tension and mental anguish for the last two days. I could not sleep all night. Harivansh wrote in the letter, Lord Buddha has been the inspiration of my life.

The Buddha with self-knowledge water on the soil of Bihar had said: May you be self-righteous. I felt that I should fast for a day for the humiliating behavior that happened to me on the decent bench of the Upper House. Perhaps this fast of mine will awaken the sense of self-realization among the honorable members who conduct this way in the House.

The Deputy Speaker wrote, in the tradition of Jayaprakash movement and these great personalities adopted public conduct in life. The scene which occurred in front of me on 20 September, has caused unimaginable damage to the dignity of the house and the seat. Violent behavior took place in the name of democracy on behalf of members of the House.

An attempt was made to frighten the person sitting on the pedestal. On Sunday, mikes were broken by opposition MPs in the Rajya Sabha on agricultural bills and some MPs went to the Well near Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan. Acting on this, Chairman Venkaiah Naidu suspended eight MPs.

Arrived on Tuesday morning in the Parliament complex with a tea-snack for him. These MPs spent the entire night in the Parliament complex near the Mahatma Gandhi statue. However, these MPs have now ended their sit-in.
