New Delhi: Railway tickets are going to increase soon between Corona era. In fact, Indian Railways will soon start charging user fares in fares from passengers at redeveloped and highly busy stations along the lines of air fares. In this regard VK Yadav, CEO and President of railway stations, said that a very small amount will be collected from passengers for fees.
Fees will be charged only for stations that are currently being redeveloped and have not yet been redeveloped. He has said that the user charge will not be charged at all seven thousand stations, but only at those stations where the number of passengers will increase in the next five years.
This will be applicable only at about 10 to 15 percent of the stations. VK Yadav said that when the redevelopment of the stations is complete, the token will be given a concession in user fees. Till then this fee will be used to provide better facilities to passengers at railway stations. He said that this fee will be very economical, it will not put much burden on the passengers.
The railway is insisting on providing world class facilities to the passengers, so it was necessary to levy this fee. Explain that this statement has come at a time when concern is being expressed about the possible increase in rail fares in the country and bringing private companies in the rail sector.
Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that a committee of secretaries was formed to provide better passenger amenities, services and security and for the redevelopment and renovation of railway stations. The committee itself has suggested to take fees for redevelopment of stations, which is under consideration.
