Police forcibly cremated midnight victim

A 19-year-old victim, who was a victim of hazing in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district, died on Tuesday at Delhi's Safdarganj Hospital. At the same time, the attitude of the UP Police towards the victim's family is condemnable. Instead of supporting the victim's family, the police has done something that has sprinkled salt on their wounds.

The police cremated the victim victim of their own free will. The family members kept pleading. They kept on begging that they should be allowed to have their last darshan for 15 minutes, but this was not accepted by the police, which was already involved in the allegations. After the death at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, police reached Hathras with the dead body.

At that time it was 12:45 pm. As soon as the ambulance arrived, people started protesting. Angry villagers lay on the road. SP-DM continued to convince the girl's helpless father for the last rites. The family members had only such a desire to cremate their daughter with rituals.

The family wanted to take the dead body to their home, but the police did not bother with their insistence. The girl's mother said that we want to bid farewell to our baby girl. Turmeric is to be planted only when the last farewell is from the door. Ignoring the demands of the family, about 200 policemen took the victim's body for the last rites at 2.20 pm. Policemen cordoned off the funeral procession. Did not even let anyone go to the pyre.

On the other hand, the family of the Hathras victim, who was sitting on a dharna in Safdarganj, was removed from the police yesterday. The family remained outside the hospital demanding the hanging of the accused. The victim's brother says that we are being misled. We want justice. Outside the hospital, Congress, Bhim Army and smaller organizations also demonstrated.

Chandrashekhar Azad, Chief of Bhima Army said that we want justice to be done, the case should be tried in fast track court. There have been many such cases in UP like Unnao and now Hathras. Let me tell you that on September 14, a 19-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped in a village in Chandpa police station area of Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh.

Police said the victim was admitted to JN Medical College Hospital in Aligarh after the incident, and was sent to Delhi for treatment on Monday morning as her condition was critical. Where the victim died on Tuesday.
