Corona continues to wreak havoc across the state. In view of the danger of corona, the administration has put a stop to all types of sports activities so that there is no crowd anywhere. Meanwhile, a news has emerged from Newtown in the metropolis where a football match is being played day and night on the roof of a building. The football match being played on the roof of the building has become a cause of trouble for the people living in the residential building.
Actually all this is happening in Newtown's Rosdale NRI Housing Complex. Explain that along with this Newtown residence, a shopping mall is also connected. The said shopping mall was built keeping in mind the residents here. A football ground has been built on the roof of this shopping mall.
It often falls in the eyes of the people living in the residential building that every day and night, there is a game going on in the football field on the roof. Not only this, regular practice is going on in the said football field during this corona period. In such a situation, there is dissatisfaction among the local people. The Rosedale Garden Apartment Owners Association alleges that the football field was built without his permission.
According to the information received, 14 years ago this multi-storey building in Newtown was mainly built for the migrants on the land of Hidco. The building was built for accommodation only. It was decided to jointly build 614 residential units by Shrachi Group and Hidco.
It was decided to sell to most NRIs. Apart from this, there was also a plan to create a commercial special. Residents of the residence claim that a commercial area of 18,000 square fit in the common area was sold separately. A shopping mall was built here. But the problem of people is something else.
Actually, a football ground has been built on the roof of the said shopping mall. Residents in the residential building allege that no permission was taken from them to build the football field.
The arrival of outsiders inside the housing has increased since the formation of the football field. People allege that the shopping mall has been commercially footballed. The game is going on here with money. As a result, outsiders continue to come throughout the day. In this period of Corona, the outward movement of outsiders remains a matter of concern for the residents of Rosdale. On the other hand, residents are angry over illegal parking in front of shopping malls. Meanwhile, Hidco chairman Devashish Sen has been complained about this matter.
When asked on the subject of the football field, Hidco chairman Devashish Sen told Kolkata 24 × 7 that it was initially allowed to play, but was later canceled following complaints from residents. As football practice continued on the roof of the shopping mall, Devashish Sen advised residents to lodge a complaint at the police station.
When contacted, police officials of Techno City Police Station said that they did not get any permission letter from Hidco. He has assured to take action under the law by coming a letter. The lack of coordination between HIDCO officers and police is clearly visible.
Abhinav Sau, a pilot by profession, has lived in this residence for more than three years. Sau has currently filed a petition in the court alleging this. He claims that this football ground has been built completely illegally. No permission was obtained. The game is going on day and night. He alleges that despite repeated complaints nothing happened. He said that the situation had deteriorated so much that he could not sleep properly after flying home at night after returning home. Because often there are football matches on that ground.
Apart from this, another resident Arvind Majumdar said that it was advisable to take permission of the residential people before constructing such a sports ground. They allege that the people living here are facing a lot of problems due to the game. We object to so many people coming together. Despite repeated complaints from the housing, there was no benefit.
In the meantime, Rajiv Singh, the owner of the football ground was asked about the allegations of the residents, he postponed it. He says that Kolkata 24 × 7 and Nexwell CEO Somen Sarkar is a resident of Rosdale Awasan. Rajiv Singh claims that the Somen government is the only one who has raised objections. But this claim of Rajiv Singh has been proved completely wrong. Residents of Rosdale Housing have collectively complained to Kolkata 24 × 7. Only after receiving these allegations, the news has been published by starting an investigation into the matter.
Here is the complaint of the residents-
