Metro rail service is starting from September 7, here is the guideline

 


New Delhi: According to the order of the center between the Corona era, the metro rail service is going to start from September 7. Meanwhile, Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Hardeep Singh Puri has issued SOP guidelines for Metro operations.

As per the order of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the metro services will be resumed sequentially from 7 September. For this, the SOP guidelines were prepared by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, which has been agreed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Metro will be resumed operationally. The multi-line metro will be opened in a sequential manner from September 7, 2020 to individual lines, allowing all lines to be operational by September 12, 2020. Daily operations may be interrupted during the commencement days, which will gradually be fully restored by September 12, 2020. The frequency of trains will be controlled to avoid congestion of passengers in stations and trains.

Stations of entry areas, entry-exit gates should be kept closed. Suitable marks should be placed inside stations and trains to ensure social distance. Wearing a face mask is mandatory for all employees and passengers. The Metro Rail Corporation can arrange to supply masks for those coming without wearing masks on payment basis.

Only people with no symptoms will be allowed to travel after thermal screening upon entering the stations. Individuals who show symptoms should be advised to go to the nearby Kovid Care Center, Hospital to receive the test, therapy. Use of the Arogya Setu App should be encouraged.

Sanitizer should be arranged at the entry of stations used by passengers. Sanitation of all areas of human contact such as equipment, trains, work areas, elevators, escalators, railings, AFC gates, toilets, etc. should be maintained at regular intervals. Smart cards and cashless, online delivery will be encouraged. Tokens and paper slips, tickets should be used with proper hygiene.

Adequate time should be made available at the stations to ensure smooth ascending and descending while ensuring social distance. Metro Rail Corporation may also resort to leaving the stations and moving forward to ensure proper social distance. Travelers are advised to travel with minimal baggage and avoid carrying metal objects for easy and quick scanning.

According to the guidelines of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) and the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISRAEE), the operation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems can be extended as much as possible to consume fresh air .

The campaign should be launched through electronic, print, social media, posters, banners, hoardings, websites, etc. to disseminate information, education and communication (IEC) to passengers and employees. The Metro Rail Corporation should maintain close liaison with the state police and local administration to control congestion outside stations and deal with accidental incidents.

Based on the above guidelines, Delhi, Noida, Chennai, Kochi, Bangalore, Mumbai Line-1, Jaipur, Hyderabad, Maha Metro (Nagpur) Kolkata, Gujarat and UP Metro (Lucknow) have prepared their SOPs. The Maharashtra government has decided not to start the re-operation of the Metro in the period of September 2020. Therefore, the operation of Mumbai Line-1 and Maha Metro (Nagpur) will be started from October 2020 or as further decision will be taken by the State Government.
