Know how different Bihar Assembly elections will be in the Corona era

New Delhi:
Election Commission has announced the dates of Bihar assembly elections today. This is the first election in the country during the Corona era. There is a big election for Bihar because the results of this election will prove who will be the next Chief Minister of the state.

This election, which takes place during the corona epidemic, will be very different from the previous elections. Maintaining social distance at the voting booth will be the biggest challenge for political parties.

This time the election will be with these rules: voting time has been extended by one hour. Now voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. Only one thousand voters will vote at each polling station. There will be all kinds of arrangements from polling stations to sanitizers. For the Bihar Assembly elections, seven lakh sanitizers, 6 lakh face shields and 46 lakh masks will be arranged.

The rules of social distance have to be followed in public meetings during election campaign. Corona-infected patients will be able to vote in the last hour of voting under the supervision of health officials at their respective polling stations. Candidates will not be able to use more than 2 trains for nomination.

Due to Corona, online enrollment will also be possible this time, but candidates will have to submit a printout of nomination. Two people may accompany the candidate to file nomination. Together with the candidate, 5 people can go door-to-door campaigning. The first phase of polling in Bihar will be held on October 28. The second phase will be held on November 3. The third phase of voting will take place on November 7 and the counting of votes will take place on November 10.

Let me tell you that due to the corona epidemic many opposition parties had said to postpone the election. In July, the NDA government-led party led by Nitish Kumar wrote a letter to the Election Commission in July, requesting to postpone the election. The party had said that conducting such a large-scale election during the fear of corona virus infection could be dangerous. But the Election Commission rejected the petition and said that the elections will be held on their own time.
