The Narcotics Control Bureau's probe into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput has come to the fore. The NCB has learned during the probe that Sushant wanted to spend a few days at Rhea Chakraborty's house during the lockdown. For which Sushant and Rhea were sent to the house of the Meruana (marijuana) actress by a fast delivery courier company. This has been confirmed during the interrogation.
According to a media report, the Narcotics Control Bureau ( NCB ) inquiries revealed from the statements of Rhea Chakraborty, Shovik and others that in April, Sushant and Riya had sent 500 grams of cannabis along with some household items to Rhea's flat. The investigation revealed that the courier was sent by Deepesh Sawant, who works at Sushant's house. Deepesh gave the courier company the address of Rihanna's Santa Cruz flat and asked to be sent there. Rhea's brother Shovik took the courier to the flat.
In the interrogation, Rhea told NCB that it was decided to send a packet of marijuana in this way to Sushant and no one could catch him. The NCB has also questioned the courier boy who delivered the packet to Rihanna's house in the matter. Courier Boy has identified Deepesh Sawant and Shovik Chakraborty. Call details of the conversation with the courier boy have also been found from the mobiles of Shovik and Deepesh.
The case was handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau after an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) revealed drug chats from Shovik and Rhea's mobiles. After lengthy interrogation, the NCB arrested Rhea Chakraborty, Shovik Chakraborty, Deepesh Sawant, Samuel Miranda, Jaid Vilatra and Basit Parihar on drug trafficking charges. The bail application of all the six accused was rejected by the court on Friday. Rhea has been remanded in judicial custody till September 22 and is currently lodged in Byculla jail. After rejecting Rhea's bail plea, her lawyer Satish Maneshinde said she would re-apply to the high court next week. Importantly, the bail applications of Rhea and Shovik, who were arrested in a drugs case, have been rejected twice so far.
