The letter bombing by the 'Group-23' of senior leaders caused a stir in the Congress Working Committee meeting on August 24. In view of that controversy, it was decided in the CWC that a special committee would be constituted to assist Sonia Gandhi. As part of which, Sonia Gandhi on Friday announced a six-member special advisory committee. In this committee, instead of the senior leaders who have raised their voices very eloquently, the people who are considered very close to the Gandhi family have been given a place. However, Mukul Wasnik, one of the leaders who wrote the letter, has been made a member of the committee.

Former Union Minister AK Antony is known as a trusted ally of the Gandhi family. This is the reason why the person whom Sonia Gandhi trusted for her review after her crushing defeat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections was AK Antony. However, it is different that even in 2019, the Congress had to face losses. Antony was close to Indira Gandhi but in the 80's he split from the Congress and formed his own party. Indira was furious with Nayanar for joining the then Left government led by him. But Antony later merged his party into Congress, although Antony did not hold any important position in the organization. Later, the relationship between Antony and the Gandhi family not only improved but became stronger over time.

6-member special committee formed by Ambika Soni Sonia also includes Ambika Soni's name. His family's relationship with the Gandhi family is very old. Indira Gandhi brought him to the Congress. His father Nakul Sen Wadhwa was a bureaucrat and was counted among the officials close to Jawaharlal Nehru. Like

Mukal Wasnik is considered a staunch Dalit leader of the Congress. He is also considered close to the Gandhi family. However, he was among 23 top leaders who wrote letters on the issue of leadership. He is the only letter-writing leader to have been included in Sonia's special advisory committee. Apart from that, he has also been given charge of Madhya Pradesh. Wasnik previously held several states.
