Five kg of heroin worth Rs 25 crore seized in Assam

Guwahti:
police Anglong district of Karbi in Assam have seized five kilograms of heroin worth Rs 25 crore. Police has arrested one person along with heroin. DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta has given this information to the media on Monday. DGP Bhaskar said the action was part of an ongoing campaign against drug trafficking activities in the state.

The Director General of Police said that Karbi Anglong police recovered over five kilograms of heroin worth about Rs 25 crore on the Assam Nagaland border last night. He said that the accused named Ismail Ali has been taken into custody. The Director General of Police said the market value of the 5 kg of heroin recovered was Rs 25 crore.

Let us tell you that there is also an interesting fact about heroin smuggling. In the year 1995-86, the police stopped a truck at the octroi, in which 40 sacks of heroin were loaded. At that time there was no action of heroin seizure, so the then police were unaware of this addiction. A truck filled with 40 sack of heroin was abandoned.

At that time, silver, gold, cloth, calculators were smuggled from Pakistan. Shortly thereafter, the Girab police took the first major action in which a large amount of heroin was recovered. Experts say that the heroin was recovered from the smuggler whose car filled 40 bags of heroin and was allowed to pass in front of the octroi. Most of those who came out after serving their sentence, some smugglers are no longer in this world.
