Veteran England fast bowler Stuart Broad has described his fellow wicketkeeper batsman Jose Butler as the best player of his country in limited overs. Butler scored an unbeaten 77 off 54 balls with eight fours and two sixes in the second T20 match against Australia at the Aegis Bowl ground here.
Butler's innings helped England reach the target of 158 runs from Australia, losing four wickets with seven balls remaining and taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series.
Broad said in a tweet, "England's best white ball player Jose Butler has once again proved this."
Butler also scored 44 runs in the first T20 match and England won the match by two runs.
Meanwhile, veteran Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has also praised Butler's ability to end the match.
Stark said after the match, "When you see someone scoring the last two matches, they are obviously powerful players in the shorter format. We have to chat as a team tomorrow."
The third T20 match between the two countries will be played on Tuesday at the Ages Bowl Stadium in Southampton. After this, a three-match ODI series will be played between Australia and England.
