Dengue and Corona virus: a double threat to Indians?

While the number of coronavirus cases in India is on the rise, the fear of dengue is also on the rise.
Dengue is spread by mosquitoes and these mosquitoes have been found to bite during the day. Experts say that many of the symptoms of dengue and coronavirus are similar. Symptoms such as fever, muscle and joint pain, headache, etc. are similar in the case of dengue and coronavirus.

It should be noted here that corona virus is an infectious disease. When an infected person comes in contact with, touches, sneezes or coughs, droplets of the corona virus spread through the air and can stay on the surface. This is how the corona virus is transmitted. Adherence to social distance and wearing a mask is mandatory to prevent it from spreading. While dengue fever is a viral disease. Dengue fever is transmitted by female Aedes-Egypt mosquitoes and these mosquitoes bite during the day. The disease occurs 5-6 days after the bite of an infected mosquito.

Patients with dengue have a sudden drop in body platelet count while coronavirus patients do not have this type of problem. Coronavirus patients have symptoms such as dry throat and loss of taste which are not seen in dengue patients. An international report also found that a patient who had previously had dengue had found antibodies in his body that could protect against corona virus infection. Another study found that the dengue vaccine is safe and effective. Which boosts the immune system and helps control corona-like viruses in the future.

Change water in coolers and small plants at home to prevent dengue. Wear full-body clothing and use a mosquito net while sleeping during the day. Home-made nutritious food should be eaten and the house should be kept clean.
