New Delhi: CBI has informed this on Wednesday that cattle are being smuggled along the India and Bangladesh border. The CBI team found in Jant that a former commandant of BSF's 36th Battalion and three others were involved in the smuggling of cattle. These people smuggle cattle on the border.
Officials have informed that the CBI has named the then Commandant of the 36th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF), Satish Kumar and three other persons - Inamul Haque, Anarul Sheikh and Mohammad Ghulam Mustafa - in this case. He told that Kumar is currently posted in Raipur.
The BSF is responsible for protecting the border with Bangladesh. The CBI agency has searched 13 locations in this case. According to information received from the sources, this place is Murshidabad along with Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Their hideouts are located in Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, Amritsar in Punjab and Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
In this case of cattle smuggling, CBI is conducting raids. A senior CBI official has said that raids have been conducted in several areas of Kolkata and Murshidabad. The official has informed that the investigation of smuggling of cattle along the international border on the border of West Bengal has been going on for the last one year.
These people, while smuggling cattle, tie socket bombs around their neck so that they can harm the soldiers if caught. The matter was constantly being sought for investigation.
