New Delhi: Actress Payal Ghosh has claimed that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap once tried to molest her. He said that he had become nude in front of her and tried to get intimate with her.
In an interview to IANS, the actress opened up about the incident in 2014. Payal told, famous director Anurag Kashyap molested me in 2014. The director told me that the girls who work with him spend gala time with him.
To break the silence for so long, Payal said, "I wanted to speak about it many times but my family and close friends told me to keep quiet so that I don't have any problem in future." But if we should talk about such people, then we misuse our position.
Payal recalled the incident and said, "I went to meet him at his office at Yari Road." He was talking to someone else so I came back. The next day he called me and said that I should not wear anything glamorous so that I look like an actress. I went to meet him in the salwar kameez. He made food for me and also picked up my plate. I left from there after some time, but he messaged again and asked me to come, so I refused, because it was too late. Then asked me who lives with me.
Two or three days later, she again met Kashyap and then the incident happened.
Payal continued, this time he called me at his house. He was smoking, I sat there. After some time he took me to another room. There were many shoes of his wife Kalki Koechlin there, she showed me the shoes that my wife has gone to America. He is angry with me.
Payal said, Anurag was working at Bombay Velvet at that time. She also said that the girls were ready to sleep with him to do just one film with Ranbir Kapoor. After this, Anurag started watching an adult film. I got scared. After this he suddenly got nude in front of me and asked me to take off my clothes. I said, Sir, I am not comfortable.
He further added, Anurag said that the actresses I have worked with are ready to come to me on just one call. Then I said again that I am not comfortable and I am sick. Somehow I ran away from there. I never met him after this. He asked me to meet him several times. I have not been able to forget that incident till date and it bothers me a lot.
Please tell that Anurag and Kalki's marriage lasted from 2011 to 2015. They were divorced in 2015 after announcing their separation in 2013.
Payal said, I did not understand what to do. My friends said complain to the police but I did not. Later, even after the Meitu campaign started, many people in the industry, including my family and manager, asked me to choose because it would ruin my career. But it is important to speak on it.
Payal Ghosh started her career with the 2009 Telugu film Priyanam and then appeared in the 2011 Kannada film Varshadhare. He also played a role in the 2008 British TV film Sharps Peril, starring Sean Bean.
In Bollywood, she has done only one film, Patel's Punjabi wedding, which featured Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Veer Das, Prem Chopra and Shilpa Shinde.
